Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
Our staff is trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment, do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a team member may advise you on your particular emergency.
After hours, we have a veterinarian on call 7 days a week to handle emergency and urgent care. Calling our office number 601-267-4573 will give you the name and phone number of the specific doctor on call that day. In addition to our on call veterinarian, we encourage you to call Animal Emergency and Referral Center in Flowood, MS (601-939-8999). They are open 24 hours for all critical care needs.
Conditions that may require immediate emergency care:
- Collapse, lethargy, or unresponsiveness
- Difficulty breathing or respiratory distress
- Swollen face or hives
- Blunt trauma, such as being hit by a car or a hard fall
- Seizures
- Toxin ingestion (chocolate, medications, household cleaners, illegal drugs, rat bait/poison)
- Vomiting, diarrhea, or not being able to keep food down
- Limping or broken bones
- Bleeding lacerations or open wounds
- Unproductive labor (dystocia)
